Today was Em's 2nd birthday party, and I want to thank our friends and loved ones in attendance. We had family travel from WI and western MN to join us in the festivities, as well as lots of wonderful people from the metro area. It was a smashing success, regardless of changing the venue at the very last minute! Joel and I originally thought of how grand it would be to have her party outside at a local park, but due to the unusually COLD early-October weather, we used and abused a local hotel that my parents were staying at - the kids got to swim, enjoy free arcade games, eat goodies, and leave with a treat bag. The party was appropriately themed with The Backyardigans characters - we included balloons, treats, and a Pablo cake baked by yours truly and frosted by my father. :) Emma got a TRUCKLOAD of gifts, which all centered around the girly-girl that she is. :) We allowed her close friends Meghan and Alex to help her open gifts - it's hard for toddlers to share the spotlight! Thank you for thinking of us/her - we are so blessed!!!!
