the zoo and an extended playdate

Yesterday, we had a lovely (albeit WARM) trip to the MN Zoo with Amy and Alex; Emma has proven to be a typical baby in that she's fascinated with fish! She could've stayed at the underground aquarium for HOURS; ok, I exaggerate, but close enough for an almost 9 month old! It was so fun to see her so interested. We also visited the butterfly exhibit and the new (to us) Grizzly Coast. Anyone who comes to visit us MUST take a trip there; it's a blast!
So, our little one is really struggling trying to get her top right tooth broken through; it's hard to watch her be in pain. We live on Baby Orajel. It's not too tough, I suppose, but she does struggle with going to sleep temporarily.
Today we had an extended playdate with our friend Meghan; she stayed from the morning until early afternoon. We had a great time! The girls both took wonderful naps to give me a little break, and Emma seemed awestruck by Meghan's ability to crawl and explore! They had a great snack and behaved wonderfully for me. I had a short glimpse into the world of twins; whew! :) When Meghan left us, we enjoyed some time outside in the mid-70's weather. We had a nice snack on her new giraffe chair, plus a treat of bubbles afterwards!
Let's just hope that tonight Emma doesn't get woken up by Canterbury's fireworks.......
